Iconsiam has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fine Arts Department to display cultural and historical items in the Iconsiam Heritage Museum, now under construction.
According to Iconsiam director Chadatip Chutrakul, the museum will be the country's first world-class museum. It will invest 500 million baht for building the museum with 8,000m² in space usage.
Iconsiam will hire Lord Cultural Resources, a specialist in planning services in the museum, cultural and heritage sector, to design the exhibition, implement security systems and guidelines for material used in the museum's design and construction.
"It is our mission and ambition to create a unique project that represents the admirable identity of Thailand. Our indigenous wisdoms will be represented here," said Chadatip, adding that the museum would become the hub of the Kingdom's historical and cultural heritage.
The museum will comprise three major sections. The first section will be the National Heritage Gallery to showcase artefacts supported by the Fine Arts Department. The second part will be the Temporary Exhibition Gallery to showcase exhibitions from master artists or worldwide museums. Last will be the River Gallery to present contemporary works from local and international artists together with art related activities.
